The National Eye Bank Project was undertaken by the National Taiwan University Hospital, and the Main Bank of National Eye Bank of Taiwan was established in the hospital. The ophthalmologists from the National Taiwan University Hospital also serve as the medical director and quality director.

National Taiwan University Hospital commissioned National Cheng Kung University Hospital to take over the Southern Taiwan Office of NEBT, which was established in National Cheng Kung University Hospital. The ophthalmologists at National Cheng Kung University Hospital also served as the medical director and quality director of the Southern Taiwan Office of NEBT.
